Summer is definitely in full swing. Starting early can definitely better your chances to have a great day on the water.
Snook are the go to species right now. The majority of the fish are along the beaches and in the passes. A lot of fish have spawned and have moved out of the pass and along the beach which provides some awesome site casting opportunities. Whitebait, Pinfish, and grunts are the bait of choice. Many of fish will start making way back to the mainland and the mangrove shorelines over the next month or so.
The Trout bite has slowed a bit over the last week or so but there are still plenty of quality fish to be had. Most fish are on the beach and near the pass where the grass meets up to the beach. A freelined greenback will usually do the trick.
Look for the Redfish bite to definitely pick up. Look for these fish under mangrove shorelines and docks with some deeper water nearby. Soaked cut bait is the trick as with the warm water temps these fish don’t want to chase down a bait.
Tarpon are definitely still around and should be through July. Early morning and late evening are usually the best bet. Threadfins, crabs, whitebait, and pinfish are the go to baits depending on the situation.
